Artists

Artists Alley at Oklacon 2005One of the greatest ways to bring the ideal of the furry fandom and this year's theme, "The Great Depression", home is through art. Oklacon 2010 will a variety of ways you can participate, including an Artists Alley, art show, and auction.

Artists Alley

Oklacon hosts an Artists Alley to showcase the talent of attendees local and from abroad. At Artists Alley, attendees can commission artwork of their own characters and purchase custom art or prints from the artists themselves. For artists, Artists Alley provides a space for aspiring doodlers and seasoned artists to display their unique styles and maybe even gain a little notoriety. Entry to Artists Alley allows an attendee artist to sell their own work at the convention. To register for space in Artists Alley, you must complete and sign an Artists Alley Agreement and send it in along with the fee for your table space at the convention.

Charity Auction

The primary goal of Oklacon is to raise funds for Safari's Animal Sanctuary, our designated charity. During the winter months when attendance at the sanctuary drops off, along with the temperatures and need to provide enough food to their animals, our charity depends upon the proven generosity of Oklacon and its attendees to help it through its tough cold season.

To help our charity feed its beloved animals, Oklacon hosts a charity auction. Everyone can help out! Artists are encouraged to serve up tempting morsels for the eye, and virtually anything of value... or not... that you think would encourage others to bid for the success of our designated charity is welcome. Please fill out an auction item entry form and submit it to art2010@oklacon.com. We'll even have these items available at the convention should you decide to donate at the last moment for this excellent cause.

Art Show and Auction

The Oklacon Art Show and Auction showcases not only well-known Guest of Honor artists, but fantastic local talent, perhaps unknown on the national scene. Like most other events at Oklacon, the art show and auction is relatively informal, but the important parts to note are listed in the Oklacon Art Show and Auction Agreement. Be sure to register for space in the art show and auction early, space is limited!
