Oklacon 2010 Refer-A-Friend Program

PREREGISTRATION FOR OKLACON 2006 is CLOSED. Thank you to all who enjoyed the early-bird prices and preregistered for the convention. If you have not preregistered and/or prepaid, you may register at the door of the convention for $39 for attendees, $59 for patrons, and $100 for super sponsors.

Down on your luck, brother? We can spare a dime.

Although, doesn't free Oklacon 2010 gear sound better than a dime? We think so, and therefore to celebrate the Great Depression theme as well as to give back to our membership base, which has been particularly affected by the poor economy, we are instituting a special program to reward our regulars with free merchandise and other perks for bringing a fresh face to Oklacon 2010 to show them what we're all about!

If you attended Oklacon 2009, and you preregister and prepay for Oklacon 2010 at the same level or higher, and if your friend preregisters and prepays for Oklacon 2010 who has not attended Oklacon 2008 or 2009, you will receive a complimentary upgrade to the next registration level, up to and including Super Sponsor if they tell us you are the reason they're coming!

With this program, you will get the next highest level of registration in return for bringing your friend. This could be a $20 value if you attended Oklacon 2009 as an Attendee and register as an Attendee at Oklacon 2010: you would be upgraded to Patron. Attendees can become Patrons, Patrons can become Sponsors, and Sponsors can become Super Sponsors! The great news is this credit can stack: If you were an Attendeee in 2009 and if you referred three fresh faces, you would be triple upgraded, all the way to Super Sponsor, complete with t-shirt, sweatshirt, special Super Sponsor gift, and an exclusive ticket to the Guest of Honor lunch, a $171 value!

Why Are We Doing This?

For one, you made us successful last year, and we honestly want to reward and give back to our loyal registrants who make Oklacon the best furry con experience year after year. Second, getting as many attendees pre-registered as possible is critical for our ability to plan for the convention itself; we can do a lot more to improve the con if we know a large crowd is coming ahead of time. By encouraging your friends who are coming to Oklacon for the first time to pre-register, you're helping us plan for a larger, more exciting convention... and you get something out of it too! Third, we know we have something special in our convention, and we want to encourage you to spread the word! Finally, as we produce Oklacon solely to the benefit of Safari's Interactive Animal Sanctuary, we are excited to share the news about this wonderful charity to as many people as possible: meaning we want to expand our audience to new faces and make new friends, both local and abroad!

How Do I Earn This?

Easy!

  1. Tell a friend about Oklacon, the first, largest, and most affordable outdoor furry convention in the United States!
  2. Read the Conditions (below) to make sure you're eligible.
  3. Pre-Register and Pre-Pay for your Oklacon 2010 registration any time before October 15.
  4. Have your friend pre-register and pre-pay for their Oklacon 2010 registration by October 15.
  5. Have your friend contact us and tell us your badge name as well as theirs so we can match up the credit, by October 15.
  6. Show up together at the convention, with a PayPal receipt from your new friend showing the referral note or an e-mail print of our response we received the credit request, and ask for your free stuff.
  7. ...
  8. PROFIT!

Conditions

Are there catches? Well, we do have a few conditions to make sure this program works out for everyone, both registrants and the convention, and to ensure this program is not abused. Those wishing to receive the Refer-A-Friend upgrade credit must satisfy the following eligibilty conditions:

  1. You must have attended Oklacon 2009 as an Attendee, Patron, or Sponsor.
  2. You must pre-register for Oklacon 2010 at the same registration level or higher than you registered at Oklacon 2009. You may not 'downgrade' your registration from last year in order to get an upgrade right back where you started.
  3. You must pre-pay (zero balance) for your Oklacon 2010 registration by October 15, 2010. You may not gain an Attendee registration comp in lieu of this credit, this credit is good for an upgrade to the next higher level only.
  4. You may not transfer your upgrade credit to any other individual. You may, however, introduce your plethora of new friends to your other friends who attended last year so that they may receive credit for the referral.
  5. Your referred friend must not have attended Oklacon 2008 or Oklacon 2009.
  6. Your referred friend must pre-register for Oklacon 2010 at any registration level and must pre-pay (zero balance) for their Oklacon 2010 registration by October 15, 2010.
  7. Your referred friend must either name you in the payment notes when they register via PayPal, or send us an e-mail and receive a confirmation reply listing your name or badge name and their name and badge name so we can match the credit up. This communciation must be received no later than October 15, 2010. (In other words, you cannot 'match make' with new attendees at the con itself to get this credit.)
  8. You may receive an upgrade for each referral, upgrading your membership up to Super Sponsor. Any referrals beyond the upgrade to Super Sponsor do not entitle the referrer to any additional compensation, discount, or upgrade.
  9. Your referred friend must check-in before or at the same time you check-in at the convention with appropriate government-issued photo identification. Any referred friends who provide false information to appear as a 'new attendee' and garner fradulent upgrade credits for others will cause referrers to forfeit any upgrade credits as part of this program.

As noted above, Super Sponsors are precluded from participating in this program as they are already at the highest level of registration. Our Super Sponsors graciously support Oklacon, and in turn Safari's, above and beyond other attendees through their continued generosity to the convention. As always, our Super Sponsors are encouraged to bring new friends to Oklacon, and potentially "match make" them with other friends for referral credit so that those other friends may join them in the ranks of highly-regarded Super Sponsors by virtue of their upgrade.
